An NDIS Individualised Living Options (ILO) arrangement gives you the freedom to access the supports you need for your preferred home and living arrangement. You can choose to live with a like-minded housemate, a supportive host family or even by yourself. It’s all about creating an environment where you can thrive with supports personalised to your daily life.
It’s important to remember that ILO is a package of supports rather than just the type of home you live in. While each arrangement is unique, supports under ILO can include personal care, assistance in developing your skills, or support with household tasks like cooking and shopping.
Enquire nowHow can Aspire Hub help?
Aspire Hub will be with you every step of the way in helping you design the perfect ILO arrangement and putting your supports in place. From the very first conversation, you will be paired with an ILO mentor who will assist you with the process and answer any questions you may have. That same mentor will continue to support you throughout your ILO journey and check in regularly to make sure that the arrangement is supporting you to achieve your goals.
Our mentors will also provide supports and training to host families and housemates, giving you and your loved ones a peace of mind that you’re in safe and capable hands.

Is ILO right for me?
While ILO arrangements are determined on case-by-case basis, it’s worth exploring if:
- you’re at least 18 or 17 but actively planning for your future living arrangement
- you require more than 6 hours of daily help at home
- you don’t need daily registered nursing care or frequent support overnight
- you’re ready to explore alternative options for your home and living needs
- you’re ready to commit to putting in the effort to designing a setup unique to you.
If you think ILO might not be the right fit for you, contact us to explore other NDIS support options.

Individualised Living Options (ILO) is funded in two stages and require pre-approval from the NDIS. This information should be readily available in your NDIS plan. If you’re not sure if you have the right funding, or require help applying for funding, get in touch with us today.
ILO is implemented in two stages. The first stage is exploration and design, which is to blueprint the support and living arrangement based on your needs. The second stage will be implementing the supports per the design.
From the design to the implementation of ILO, this can take up to 3 – 6 months depending on NDIA’s funding approval times. Our team at Aspire Hub have the knowledge and experience to ensure that this can be completed as promptly as possible.
ILO does not include:
- Rent or mortgage payments
- Daily living costs, such as utility, Internet and food
- Community participation supports, such as going to work, study or accessing community activities
- Home modifications
