From 1 July 2026, all SIL providers must be NDIS registered. Then, from 1 October 2026, plan managers must reject SIL invoices from providers that aren&#8217;t registered and haven&#8217;t applied for registration.<\/p>\n<p>If any of your participants currently receive SIL supports from an unregistered provider, now is the time to check their registration status and plan ahead to avoid disruptions to their supports.<\/p>\n<h2>What&#8217;s changing?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Several changes came into effect from 1 July 2026:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Mandatory NDIS registration now applies to all SIL providers and NDIS digital platform providers.<\/li>\n<li>A new registration group, 0138 \u2013 Assistance with Supported Independent Living, has replaced the previous SIL registration group.<\/li>\n<li>The new SIL Supplementary Module became part of the NDIS Practice Standards, introducing additional quality and safeguarding requirements for SIL providers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">From 1 October 2026:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Plan managers must reject SIL invoices from providers that aren&#8217;t registered and haven&#8217;t applied for registration.<\/li>\n<li>Providers that haven&#8217;t applied for registration can only claim for SIL supports delivered up to 30 September 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What this means for Support Coordinators<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">If you&#8217;re supporting a participant who already receives SIL, it&#8217;s worth confirming that their provider is registered with the NDIS Commission. You can check directly with the provider or search the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndiscommission.gov.au\/provider-registration\/find-registered-provider\"><strong>NDIS Provider Register<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">For participants looking to move into SIL, registration status should now be one of the first things you check.
