From 1 July 2026, SIL claims moved to a new support item code, and support worker pricing increased. Here&#8217;s what these changes mean for you and the participants you support.<\/p>\n<h2>So, what&#8217;s changed?<\/h2>\n<h3>New SIL support item code<\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">From 1 July 2026, providers claim SIL supports under 0138 &#8211; Assistance with Supported Independent Living. Supports delivered before that date remain under the previous 0115 support item.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">At the same time, the SIL Supplementary Module became part of the NDIS Practice Standards, introducing additional quality and safeguarding requirements for SIL providers.<\/p>\n<h3>Updated pricing<\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Support worker pricing increased by approximately 4.8% under the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndis.gov.au\/providers\/pricing-and-payments\/pricing\/pricing-arrangements\"> 2026\u201327 NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits<\/a>. The NDIA adjusted allied health and therapy prices individually rather than applying a standard increase across all support categories.<\/p>\n<h2>Why it&#8217;s worth checking your referrals<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">If you&#8217;re supporting a participant through a plan review or referring someone into SIL, check that your quotes, service agreements and budget projections use the new 0138 support item and current pricing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">If a service agreement was prepared before 1 July 2026 and still references 0115, you&#8217;ll need to update it for any supports delivered after that date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">It&#8217;s also worth reviewing a participant&#8217;s SIL budget against their current roster of supports, particularly if they&#8217;re on a longer plan based on 2025\u201326 pricing.<\/p>\n<h2>There&#8217;s another important change<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">These pricing updates arrived alongside another significant change: mandatory provider registration for SIL providers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">From 1 July 2026, providers delivering SIL must be registered with the NDIS Commission, and from 1 October 2026, plan managers must reject invoices from unregistered SIL providers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">We&#8217;ve covered those changes in more detail in a separate article because they directly affect who you can confidently refer participants to.<\/p>\n<h2>Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n<h3>What is the new NDIS SIL support item code?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">From 1 July 2026, providers claim SIL supports under 0138 \u2013 Assistance with Supported Independent Living, replacing the previous 0115 support item.<\/p>\n<h3>Do I need to update existing SIL service agreements?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">If a service agreement covers supports delivered from 1 July 2026 onwards, it should reference the new 0138 support item and current pricing.
