What\u2019s SIL?<\/h3>\n

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is defined by the NDIS as a type of support designed to help you live independently in your own home. Specifically, it includes assistance or supervision with daily tasks like cleaning and cooking meals, with the goal of supporting your independence as much as possible.<\/p>\n

Generally, the NDIS recommends SIL for people with high support needs\u2014those who require significant help throughout the day, including overnight assistance. However, it\u2019s important to note that SIL funding does not cover<\/strong> everyday expenses such as groceries or rent. Do I have to live alone?<\/h3>\n

What funding do I need?<\/h3>\n

Supported Independent Living requires pre-approval from the NDIS. However, if SIL isn\u2019t included in your plan, you might be able to use your CORE Budget for Short Term Accommodation. If you need help checking or applying for your NDIS plan, please reach out to us for support and guidance.<\/p>\n
